Ashbridge's Bay

The archival image in this photo is from the Toronto Archives, Fonds 1244 Item 0248. It was taken by William James Sr. in around 1908.  Did you know that at one point in the early 1900s Ashbridge's Bay became so toxic from waste, they had to remove the breakwall around it? Today, it is the site of the city's largest waste water treatment plant.
